Remember that scene in The Holiday - gumption? I think about that scene a lot when I talk to people who are miserable.
Some people are miserable because they've forgotten to be the star in their own production.
Some people are miserable because, well, horrible things are happening in their lives. I've noticed that in the midst of something like that the strongest people find, look for, reasons to laugh.
Others are miserable because they suffer from a disease like depression and go to places in their own heads that I wouldn't wish on anyone but my worst enemies.
Misery is a weird fucking thing.
Some assholes are miserable because they choose to be. Misery allows them to focus attention on themselves so they make mess after mess of their lives and wonder why shitty things keep happening. I fucking hate those people.
I don't really have a fucking point.
