I still have no internet for my laptop and Blogger hasn't worked this entire trip.
It's been an amazing trip.
Leaving Cal City was bitter sweet. Sweet because it was Cal City, bitter because I left some of the most wonderful people behind. People who very much put me back together again.
I love driving through the Southwest. Some parts just take my breath away. Like every time I see a cop and pray I don't end up in an Arizona jail guilty of being brown. If I had to live in a desert state, I choose New Mexico.
Texas sucked except for two parts: seeing a dear friend who walked through the same cancer hell as TGB (which is what brought her into our lives), and leaving that fuckhole state.
I was nervous heading into Mississippi. A brown dude in the south, blah blah blah. Turns out, every single person in Mississippi was nicer than the last. And it was a prettier state than I imagined. The coolest part though, was being in Mississippi on the biggest college football day in Mississippi history.
Then we got to our new home in Mexico Beach, Florida. Let me tell you, it didn't take a day to realize we were gonna stay here awhile longer than first anticipated. Every person we have met has been kind and warm. Everywhere we go we can see the ocean. Every single day we make it a point to walk to the sea.
We are very definitely sea people.
That catches you up. Now I'm going to enjoy my coffee on the beach.
