I'll be leaving California soon. Likely for several years, if not for good. I love California. I also love leaving. Where I leave from is incidental. I just love to ... go. My little brother calls it pulling a Rudy.
Before I leave I have things to show The Gorgeous Blonde. Things like Disneyland, La Jolla Cove, Griffith Observatory, a Dodgers game, and a few other California things. I love the idea of being a tour guide and seeing it all through her eyes.
Then... we escape from the California City desert. But before any of that I have a few more days in Monterey. If you know me, you know what this place means to me. If you don't know me just know that it is the one place on earth I feel I belong.
When my dad died and that voice in my head whispered, go home. I came here. And in that time I made friends who have come to be family to me. So for the next few days I will be savoring what will likely be my last time here for a long time.
It's a strange thing. The Gorgeous Blonde comes home in just under two weeks. Time cannot go fast enough. I'll be leaving Monterey in a few short days. Time cannot go slowly enough.
Have a nice day!
